SADUSKY, OHIO (JUNE 12, 2009) – The Cedar Point Amusement Park will be holding a day of fun with a special appearance from the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The events will begin at the opening of the park but a parade from the Sky Ride to the Wicked Twister roller coaster will main event the day at 2 p.m.. During the parade a team of eight clydesdales will be pulling an authentically made old fashion beer wagon, and will be stopped by the Wicked Twister for viewing before and afterward.

The Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales will be on display from 1:30 to 2:00 and then again after the parade from 2:30 to 3:00. With only five teams of these gargantuan horses around the country they are sure to get a large amount of attention. The horses stand at a minimum of 6-ft and can weigh between 1800-2300 lbs. The collar worn by the Clydesdales alone weighs in at 130lbs. Each day a single horse can eat up to 25 quarts of feed along side its daily intake of 50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water. These horses are so large because the tradition requires a Clydesdale to meet hight and weight requirements.

The
Clydesdales were originally given to August Busch Sr. in 1933 as a gift signifying their celebration and victory over prohibition. These beasts soon became an icon of the families success appearing in major sporting events around the country and being featured in many well known parades such as macy's. Five teams are viewed around the world and visit nearly 300 cities each year. The Anheuser-Bush Clydesdales have become a part of American history and should be seen by all who can. Come down for this fridays celebration at Cedar point Amusement park and don't miss these magnificent creatures.
